The sound of bagpipes swelled in the air as the City of Alexandria Scottish Pipes and Drums recently presented a free concert at Waterfront Park in Old Town. The sharp dress and precision marching of the band was complemented by whirls of Scottish dancers as the sun set over Old Town.

Under the musical direction of Pipe Major John Sprague, the City of Alexandria Pipes and Drums has performed in parades, festivals, and special events throughout the D.C. area for more than four decades.
