Friends of Guest House recently celebrated its 45th anniversary outside their newest location in Alexandria. Sweet-smelling barbecue, live guitar, and laughter filled the air as the sun set on Old Town. The event drew a diverse guest list, including curious neighbors and Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson. Toward the end of the evening, many even enjoyed a fierce bingo competition. Guests left with smiles on their faces and great food in their stomachs as Friends of Guest House celebrated 45 years of successfully helping women reenter the community after incarceration – proving the past does not have to define the future.
