Keep the Homeless Warm – 4th Annual Coat/Blanket Drive

Story + Photography by David D’Agostino

After volunteering to feed the homeless in D.C., a group of friends noticed that some of them were using street grates to keep warm and decided to do something about it. So each year when the weather turns cold, they gather in Del Ray at Charlie’s On The Avenue to collect donations.

Within the first hour at this year’s collection, bags were overflowing with coats, blankets, scarves and more to keep the homeless warm. The donations will be distributed at the Feed the Homeless in D.C. event, held in Franklin Square and hosted by Food Dude USA Brandon Frye.
