The recent 49th annual Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend celebrated Scottish culture in Old Town. Activities included the parade, heather and greens sales, a Taste of Scotland sampling event, and holiday home tours. All proceeds throughout the weekend went to The Campagna Center, which provides enrichment programs for children, teens and adults in Alexandria.
The parade featured some of Alexandria’s own Scottish clans; Scottish bagpipers and drummers; dancers; classic cars; and Santa Claus. This year’s grand marshal was Virginia Tech president Tim Sands.
