In addition to housing the Alexandria History Museum, the Lyceum hosts lectures, screenings and other public programs, including a free concert series from the Friday Morning Music Club. Ironically, the first rule of the Friday Morning Music Club (FMMC): Never go to the Lyceum on a Friday morning if you want to attend a concert. Most concerts are held on the second Sunday of each month from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

A recently held concert included the works of Claude Debussy performed by Immanuela Gruenberg, Charles-Marie Widor’s Suite performed by Gwyn Jones and Rosanne Conway, and Max Bruch performed by Albert Hunt, Bonnie Cohen, and Jung-Yoon Lee. The performance was warmly received and the performers were gracious in providing background information on the works and composers.
