“I’m a big believer in non-invasive, highly customized skin care treatments. Our clients look and feel younger at the end of their session,” says celebrity skincare consultant Sarah Akram. Sarah has worked with some of Hollywood’s top A-listers including Catherine O’Hara, Zoey Deschanel and Angela Bassett.

Through her Old Town boutique, Sarah Akram Skincare, she is bringing the same quality treatments received by film and TV starlets to the Alexandria community. “We offer a wide variety of customizable facials, as well as lash, brow and waxing services, and are the largest provider of Biologique Recherchè, Environ Skin Care and Vintner’s Daughter in the D.C. area.”

Sarah, who has been featured in Vogue, The Los Angeles Times and Harper’s Bazaar, says her greatest satisfaction comes from converting non-believers who are apprehensive about what kind of results they can expect from her work. “I’ve built my career and reputation on proven results, and it’s really gratifying knowing word of mouth has been the key to my team’s success.”

Fun Fact: According to researchers, moisturized skin might prevent age-related ailments including Alzheimer's, heart disease and diabetes.

A daughter of immigrants, Sarah seeks to assist other women from minority communities to develop their entrepreneurial ambitions. Through her work, she seeks to empower women to feel and look their best. “Skincare allows us to treat conditions like acne and fine lines, but it’s important to remember these conditions don’t define us. The goal is healthy skin, not perfect skin. The confidence of investing in ourselves allows us to have a greater sense of self-worth.”
