The Portside in Old Town Fall Festival was packed with people, activities, and fun this year. Hosted by Visit Alexandria in conjunction with the Seaport Foundation and the Office of Historic Alexandria, the festival featured live music, nautical demonstrations, and children’s activities.
The DCeivers rocked the stage with a mix of tunes, and there were also appearances by DJ Kat and Sol Roots. Port City Brewing provided craft beer, and food was dished out by Riverside Taco Company, Dolci Gelati, The Italian Place, and Red Hook Lobster Pound.
The Tall Ship Providence was also on display. The Providence is a reproduction of the first ship authorized to serve in the Continental Navy and John Paul Jones’ first American Command. Tall Ship Providence Foundation crew members taught sailor’s knot tying. The Providence will be available for tours and cruises beginning late fall 2019.
