The moonlit view of the Potomac River set the mood for the annual Mount Vernon Underground Masquerade Ball at the Mount Vernon estate. The charity ball, which is held on the east lawn of the estate, supports Mount Vernon’s preservation and education programs.

Guests enjoyed an open bar, savory hors d’oeuvres, private tours of the mansion, music and dancing, and a rare look into the estate’s underground cellar. Guests donned their evening best and wore fascinating masks, which added an amusing touch to the evening’s affair.
