As a partner with the law firm of Shreves Schudel Saunders Parello & Clarke, PLC and counsel RGS Title, Kellye Curtis Clarke practices a different kind of law; the kind that helps people fulfill their dream of becoming property owners. “Growing up, my dad always told me that I’d be a lawyer and follow in the footsteps of one of my aunts and a family friend,” notes Clarke. “Those two women always served as a resource to the family and community. His words of encouragement stayed with me and I decided at an early age that I also wanted to help others in this manner. Also, researching land records during college highlighted the importance of owning real property and the significant challenges that communities of color faced throughout history to become property owners. It was enlightening and infuriating to read the discriminatory restrictive covenants that were so frequent in many of the land records that I reviewed. I wanted to have a part in helping others own real property, and I do. Every transaction is different and comes with its challenges. I’m a problem-solver and my work allows me to use my skillset to assist others. I focus on the people involved in each transaction and the accomplishment and family legacy they are creating by being homeowners.”

Specializing in primarily residential real estate closings, Clarke also works with small businesses, churches and non-profit organizations by providing counsel and guidance with transactional details of buying, selling and financing commercial real property.
