Taking place in the midst of the King Street Arts Festival, the recent annual Art League Ice Cream Bowl Fundraiser was booming and bustling with patrons enjoying ice cream and a new piece of ceramic artwork. The ice cream fundraiser raised proceeds for the Ceramics Department of Alexandria’s Art League, a multifaceted nonprofit visual arts organization. Each purchase of a student’s ceramic bowl came with a scoop of ice cream to enjoy along with it – fully functional art!
“People in the community share passions through a variety of art forms,” said Suzanne Bethel, Executive Director of the Art League. “It’s wonderful to introduce folks to new art via ice cream!”
Be on the lookout for the Art League’s next community event – there’s a chance to learn something new, and enjoy ice cream while you do it!
